How to Properly Store Raw Meat & Poultry
Note: All of our chicken/meat is prepared & delivered fresh unless stated otherwise.
- Upon receipt, handle and store the raw meat within a couple of hours.
- Raw meat can be stored in the refrigerator [40°F (4°C) or below] on the bottom shelf for up to 2 days.
- If freezing raw meat, please freeze immediately. Raw meat can be kept in the freezer [0°F (-18°C) or below] for up to 9-12 months.
- Pack the raw meat in airtight packaging to avoid freezer burns.
- When defrosting, place the frozen meat in the fridge to defrost.
- Once defrosted, do not refreeze. Use within 24-48 hours after defrosting.
Note: Because our meats are freshly prepared and vacuum sealed, they may have a slight odour when opened.
Pro Tip:
- Pat dry and salt raw meat/chicken and place uncovered on the bottom rack in the fridge to prolong shelf life.
- Marinate the raw meat/chicken in ginger/garlic, lemon juice, and salt to prolong shelf life.
