The Beef Ribeye Steak is one of the most popular and flavourful cuts of beef, often sought after for its tenderness, juiciness, and rich marbling. The fat melts as the steak cooks, infusing the meat with deep, savoury flavours.
The Ribeye steak comes from the rib section of the cow, specifically the rib primal between the shoulder and lower back. It’s a bone-in or boneless cut and is known for its high fat content, particularly its intramuscular fat (marbling). This marbling is what gives the Ribeye its signature flavour and tenderness, as the fat melts during cooking, basting the meat and ensuring a juicy, flavourful experience.
The Ribeye is cut from the fore rib of the cow and is celebrated for its generous marbling, which provides a perfect balance of flavour, tenderness, and juiciness. Known for having the highest amount of intramuscular fat among prime cuts, the Ribeye's marbling melts beautifully during cooking, allowing the fat to infuse the meat with rich, savoury depth. This unique combination of flavours and textures makes the Ribeye one of the most coveted cuts for grilling, pan-searing, or slow-roasting, ensuring a melt-in-your-mouth experience with every bite.

How to cook a great steak:
- Bring the steak to room temperature 20 minutes before cooking.
- Liberally season the steak with Sea Salt and Pepper.
- Heat a heavy-based pan until pan is smoking hot
- Cook the steak on either side for 3 – 4 minutes or until the eye of fat is starting to melt and turned a beautiful golden brown colour, and the meat is forming a stunning dark crust to it.
- Melt a small knob of butter over the steak.
- Remove from the heat and let rest for 10 minutes.
- Enjoy!
