Vegetable Hakka Noodles

The authentic hakka noodles for veg lovers!

Ingredients:

  • Hakka Noodles
  • Onion, sliced thinly – 1
  • Garlic, minced – 3-4 cloves
  • Red peppers, chopped – ½ cup
  • Green peppers, chopped – ½ cup
  • Green cabbage, chopped – 1 cup
  • Purple cabbage, chopped – 1 cup
  • Carrot, julienned – 1 cup
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Vinegar – 1 tbsp
  • Chilli sauce – 1-2 tbsp

How to Cook:

  • Boil water in a large pot. Add olive oil and prepare the noodles. Drain the noodles and place them in a big strainer.
  • Heat oil in a large wok. Add and sauté the garlic and onions for two minutes. Add the cabbage, carrots, and peppers and cook, stirring frequently, until the vegetables start softening, two to three minutes.
  • Stir in the vinegar, soy sauce, and chili sauce. Add the prepared hakka noodles and combine well.
  • Cook for 5 to 7 minutes over high heat. Add some onions as a garnish. Savour it hot!

Street-Style Hakka Noodles

  • Hakka Noodles – 1 packet
  • Onion – ½ chopped
  • Bell pepper – ½ chopped
  • Carrot – 1 finely sliced
  • Peas – ½ cup
  • Scallions – ¼ cup
  • Garlic – 2 grated cloves
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Hoisin sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Sambal sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Sesame Oil – 2 tsp

Instructions:

Ingredients:

  • Hakka Noodles – 1 packet
  • Cabbage, chopped – 1 cup
  • Capsicum, chopped – 1 cup
  • Onion, chopped – ½ cup
  • Soy sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Hot sauce – 2 tbsp
  • Chilli Garlic paste – 1 tbsp
  • Tomato paste/ketchup – 1 tbsp
  • Cheese, mozzarella, or cheddar – 1 cup

Instructions:

  • Wash, peel, and chop the vegetables first. Prepare the Hakka noodles and set them aside.
  • Add the chili oil to a wok, add the onion and cabbage, and stir-fry until golden. Stir-fry with tomato sauce added.
  • After that, turn down the heat and add the Hakka noodles. Add a handful of coriander, soy sauce, and chili garlic paste, and toss again. Stir everything thoroughly.
  • Finally, add the grated cheese, put the lid on for a minute, then move the dish to a serving platter and enjoy it.

Cart-Style Chicken Hakka Noodles

Ingredients:

  • Hakka noodles – 1 packet
  • Chicken, cubed or shredded – 250 grams
  • Vegetables – to your preference
  • Soy sauce – 1-2 tbsp
  • Vinegar – 1-2 tbsp
  • Oil – as per need
  • Salt & Pepper – as per need

Instructions:

  • After boiling, drain and rinse the Hakka noodles. Set them aside.
  • Boil or grill the chicken. Add herbs & spices according to your preference and set aside.
  • In a skillet, heat the oil over high heat. Add the vegetables, tossing well for three to five minutes.

Ingredients:

  • Hakka Noodles
  • Salted Butter – 5 tbsp
  • Garlic, thinly sliced – 9-10 cloves
  • Crispy chilli oil – 2 tbsp
  • Chilli flakes – 1 tsp
  • Salt
  • Vinegar – 1 tbsp
  • Soy sauce – 1 tbsp

Instructions:

  • Melt salted butter and olive oil over a medium-high flame in a big pan.
  • After that, heat for a minute, adding sliced garlic cloves, a dash of salt, and red pepper flakes. Do not let the garlic brown.
  • Add the vinegar, soy sauce, and crispy chili oil and simmer for two minutes.
  • Stir in the Hakka noodles and a little salted butter. Simmer for an additional minute or two on low heat. Add a last dash of salt, and enjoy.

Stir-Fried Egg Hakka Noodles

An “egg-cellent” recipe!

Ingredients:

  • Hakka Noodles
  • Onion, sliced thinly – 1
  • Garlic, minced – 3-4 cloves
  • Vegetables – Bell peppers, spring onions, cabbage etc…
  • Eggs – 3
  • Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar – 1 tbsp
  • Hot & sweet sauce – 1 tbsp

Instructions:

  • Add the eggs to the pan with heated oil. Add a dash of pepper and salt. Cook the eggs for a few minutes or until they are scrambled. Set aside
  • Hakka noodles should be boiled, drained, rinsed, and set aside.
  • Heat oil in a skillet, then add the onion & veggies. Cook for two to four minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper.
  • Add the sauces and spices. Toss in prepared noodles and eggs. Mix well and serve.

Schezwan Hakka Noodles

Finger-licking good!

Ingredients:

  • Hakka noodles – 1 packet
  • Onions, sliced thinly – 1
  • Vegetables – Bell pepper, cabbage, carrot, spring onions etc…
  • Soy sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Vinegar – 1 tbsp
  • Schezwan sauce – 1 tbsp
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Oil

Instructions:

  • Boil the noodles. After boiling, drain and rinse the noodles and set them aside.
  • Add the onion and vegetables to a skillet with heated oil. Cook for 3 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste. The vegetables need to stay crisp.
  • Lower the heat and add the vinegar, soy sauce, and schezwan sauce. Stir for one minute.
  • Toss the cooked noodles, vegetables, and sauces until well combined.
